Combat Engineering

well, i knew my combat engineer training would come in handy. I'm stationed with TeamBearCat in TN right now and we've been doing box maintenance. I was sent out to scout ahead and make sure that the bridge was safe. Afterwards, I got to enjoy the view, but it was a little lonely without Violet. She says she has a surprise for me in the next couple of weeks. I wonder what she is up to?
an exciting event was the exchange I got to participate in :)

An Imposter!

Went back out fishing with the C's again this weekend. We got some info together to plant a new box but did not get to go out letterboxing. Bummer. Anyway we went on a picnic and fishing trip Sunday afternoon with the C'S and some friends of thiers and thier kids. I told them all about letterboxing and what fun we were having. Well we do some fishing and I took a nap -- that sun will do that to a little guy like me -- and when I woke up, what did I see in this bucket? Why it's my buddy Crabby, come home from his adventure in North Carolina with Mamac! So I crawled down in the bucket to say hello. Well mind you I did not have on my sun glasses and as you can see from the sun glinting off of my little furry head it was something awful bright outside, so I let my eyes adjust and what ?? you're not Crabby! Wow this guy sure looked a lot like my buddy Crabby but, his pincers were huge and he snapped them at me. Wow, Crabby would never do that, he's my friend. Well I gotta tell ya, I did not wait around any longer to introduce myself or find out who he was. I jumped outta that bucket faster than you can say .... well I am outta here ! Whew that was a close one!

My station time here with the C's is almost up, and I'll be moving on. I will miss Mr. and Mrs C, but I am looking forward to my next assignment and meeting my new hosts.

First Finders!

Had a wonderful day with Mr and Mrs C.
Today was her birthday so we took her letterboxing. :o)
We saw three deer including a baby with spots, found our first hitchiker and were first finders at the box we visited! Yay! I had a great day. I have had Mrs.C load up some pictures on the groups page and she is going to send some more to you. She said she did not want to take up too much room. Anyway having a blast, but missing you all.

Fishing Trip

Went fishing today with Cannonball and Handyman, (MR.and Mrs. Cannon). We had a nice time but did not catch anything. Mrs.C had a fish but hejumped off at the last minute. Oh well , maybe next time. Mrs. C and Idid scope out a place to hide a box though. We came home and got thecontainer ready, carved the stamp and made a small logbook to goinside. So , all we have to do is go back and plant it and then postthe clues. I am so excited because this will be Mr. and Mrs C's firstplant. Yeah she has done quite a few postals but hasn't been able tofind a good spot for a box, but I helped find this one. This will bealso my first plant too. Mrs. C is letting me take part credit inplanting. Hopefully we can get it planted before the weekend. So I am having a great time, but I miss everyone. I hope you are all fine and will see you all soon. Love and kisses, Sarge
P.S. Am including a picture of me fishing.

First Pics

I have been having a wonderful time with the Cannons. On Sunday, June 10 we went out on our first letterboxing trip. Starting at 0930 hours we headed out to Lewes and Rehoboth Beach in Delaware and Ocean City in Maryland. First stop was Lewes where we found "The Mariner," "Shiver Me Timbers," and "Anglers Shark Fishing." While hunting for our first box, Ms. Cannon had a very unfortunate run-in with a mother bluejay. The unfortunate experience was made worse as she was wearing a white sweater and the bird had obviously been eating blueberries! I felt so bad for her. We did make a stop at Walmart so she could pick up a new shirt to finish the trip in. From there we hit Rehoboth Beach and found "Greyhounds Reach the Beach" under a boardwalk. It wasn't easy for them to be discreet grabbing and replacing the box. I guess I should have worn my chocolate chip uniform instead to blend in with the sand better. We picked up "Doghead Fish" at the Dogfish Head grill and brewery. I got to stick my toes in the sand, but Ms. Cannon said no swimming, as the water was cold. From there we went to Ocean City to find the "Girls Gond Wild #1" at a small quiet park just off the strip (don't worry, Violet, there were no wild girls here!) We saw the beginnings of a beautiful sunset, which caused me to think of my wonderful wife and wish she was here to see it with me. We will definitely have to take a second honeymoon when I get home! We were only 2 1/2 hours from home, but three delays from accidents had us rolling in at about 2345 hours. I slept in the next day. Ms. Cannon has said that we are going to try planting a letterbox here in Annapolis while I'm here, since there are so few, and maybe we will get to go letterboxing next weekend. I'm looking forward to it!

I've Arrived!

Hi All!

Arrived safe! The trip was good. The Cannon's seem nice and Crabby is great. We have been playing and getting to know each other a little while as I just arrived a couple of hours ago. Having a fun time already though! He is a picture of Crabby and I.

Mrs. Cannon left a note on my blog for me too.

Kisses for Violet, Dad and all the kids.
I will be home soon, though looking forward to seeing Annapolis!

My Family

I wanted to post some pictures of my family. At the top is me with my lovely wife, Violet. On the bottom is my father and our three kids. Dad's name is Scratch. Left to right my kids are: Blu, Rose, and Goldae. I will be taking these snapshots with me in my log book so I can share them with whomever I meet on my travels.
